The Cinder Series by Marissa Meyer

It is 500 years in the future and all the countries have finally stopped fighting and everyone on Earth was allies with each other. By reading that, you’re probably thinking, “oh wow, this book sounds super peaceful then!” Wrong. Instead of fighting with each other, all Earthens now have a new enemy: the people on the moon, known as Lunars.
The Lunars are controlled by their psychotic ruler, Queen Levana. Although she’s beyond ruthless, they adore her. This is because she is able to change the biochemistry wave lengths, forcing everyone around her to see an absolute gorgeous woman and causing them to think she is perfect.
Then there is Cinder. She is a cyborg who lives on Earth with her horrid step mother. She believes she will never be anything more than an outcast and a poor mechanic. However, as time goes, Cinder learns she is so much more than she ever thought she was. Can Cinder be the only one standing in Queen Levana’s way to taking over the world?
Cinder, by Marissa Meyer, takes a spin on the classic Cinderella story, and incorporates sci-fi, more romance, and parts that are just heartbreaking. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something impossible to put down. But don’t worry, once you finish Cinder, you’re in luck, because it is a 4 book long series: Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Fairest and each one just gets better and better!
