Review by Dan R.
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials takes the concept of survival to a completely different level as this novel contains an even more thrilling and deadly adventure than its predecessor. The obstacles that the group of guys faced while they were in the maze were so scary that it would have taken them a miracle to get out of the maze alive and they did. Now, in an outdoor environment, the group of boys called the Gladers are now bearing witness to the aftermath of our solar system’s sun as they must traverse a city filled with even more terrifying obstacles than in the maze.
This novel also has very deep plot twists that can change the way one would think about this book. James Dashner has done this to grab the reader’s attention and to intensify their curiosity, meaning it makes the reader want to absorb everything and completely understand the whole story. The second Maze Runner book does an amazing job with grabbing the reader’s attention and making the audience want to enjoy this mind blowing adventure that takes the concept of survival and friendship to a completely different level.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good adventure with surprises and twists that only make the reader more intrigued in the plot.
